I describe these works as "internal landscapes." They are manifestations of my hopes, my fears and anxieties, and my need to make sense of the world through mark-making and erasure. Drawing for me is a bit like performing a dance and in many ways, it is about navigating through life. Something is created only to be erased but the presence of its existence is eternal and felt. I take refuge in the scarring of the surface and in the absences of the spaces in between. What is reality and what is only an echo of what has been or a foreshadowing of what will come? These pieces allow me to meditate on my philosophical meanderings while constructing alternate realities.
